We usually respond within three days
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our BUX team based in Amsterdam.
The App team is responsible for evolving and scaling the BUX mobile experience - the core of our product used daily by our users.
Our mission goes beyond investing. We are building a broader financial experience that includes both investing and savings, helping users grow and manage their money in a simple, transparent, and intuitive way.
The team consists of Product, Design, Android, iOS, web , Backend engineering, and QA, and works closely with stakeholders across Web, Onboarding, Marketing, Data, Operations, and Compliance.
We operate with a modern, AI-assisted approach, leveraging AI tools across discovery, design exploration, prototyping, and decision-making. We value clarity, strong execution, and using AI to meaningfully amplify team output.
The role
As a Senior Product Designer, you will own the end-to-end problem space - from early discovery to implementation-ready delivery - across both investing and savings products.
You will work in ambiguous problem spaces, especially as we expand into savings, helping define problems, uncover user needs, and shape new product experiences from the ground up. You will explore solution directions and translate them into clear, testable designs.
Through rapid prototyping - including AI-assisted tools - you will efficiently explore, validate, and refine ideas, moving from early concepts to strong design direction.
You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to ensure solutions are both user-centered and technically sound. This includes contributing to product copy where needed, clearly communicating design intent, and making trade-offs explicit and intentional.
Your work will go beyond individual screens - you will think in systems, patterns, and scalability, shaping consistent and maintainable solutions across the app as we expand into new domains.
What you will do
Deliver high-fidelity designs, including components, variants, states, edge cases, empty states, and error states
Ensure designs are clear, unambiguous, and ready for engineering implementation
Design scalable patterns and systems that work across both investing and savings experiences
Apply strong interaction design, usability, and accessibility principles
Rapidly prototype and validate ideas through usability testing and iteration
Collaborate early with engineers (iOS & Android) to validate flows and reduce rework
Clearly communicate design intent, trade-offs, and rationale
Use prototypes and concise documentation to support decision-making
What you need to succeed
Strong understanding of mobile constraints (iOS and Android patterns, responsiveness, performance, state handling, and platform differences)
Ability to design with technical awareness, not just visual polish
Experience working on complex product domains (e.g., fintech, banking, or similarly structured products)
Experience working closely with mobile engineering teams in complex product environments
Excellent communication skills - able to explain both what you designed and why it works
Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping new product areas from early stages
Nice to have
Experience designing for savings, investing, or financial management products
Experience using AI in design and development workflows (e.g., UI generation, component exploration, Figma-to-code, prototyping, documentation)
Familiarity with mobile tech stacks and design systems (SwiftUI, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, design tokens, etc.)
Experience in regulated environments and understanding of compliance considerations in product design
