Senior Product Designer
Invest in your career
We usually respond within three days
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our BUX team based in Amsterdam.
The Web team is building BUX’s new desktop investing experience, a major strategic step for a company that has historically been mobile-only. We’re a cross-functional group with product, frontend, and backend engineering, design, and QA, working closely with Mobile, Onboarding, Marketing, Data, Operations, and Compliance.
We work with a modern, AI-assisted approach: using AI for discovery, design exploration, rapid prototyping, and workflow acceleration. As a team, we value clarity, strong execution, and smart use of AI to amplify what we can deliver together.
While we’re serious about building a best-in-class product, we keep our culture open, collaborative, and curious.
What you will do
You will own web design end-to-end, from early discovery through to implementation-ready delivery, focusing on desktop-first experiences for complex investing and saving products. You will work in ambiguous problem spaces, helping frame problems, identify user needs, and explore solution directions before translating them into clear, testable designs. Through rapid prototyping, including the use of AI-assisted tools, you will explore, validate, and refine ideas efficiently, moving confidently from early concepts to concrete design direction.
You will work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure designs are both user-centered and technically grounded. This includes contributing early product copy where needed, clearly communicating design intent and rationale, and ensuring trade-offs are intentional and well understood. Your work will not stop at individual screens; you will think in systems and patterns, helping shape scalable, consistent solutions that can evolve.
In this role, you will:
Produce high-fidelity Figma designs with full detail, including components, variants, states, edge cases, empty states, error states, and clear annotations
Ensure designs are unambiguous and ready for engineering implementation
Design scalable patterns rather than one-off solutions, ensuring consistency and long-term maintainability
Apply strong interaction design, accessibility, and usability principles across all work
Convert designs into prototypes quickly and validate the key assumptions with usability testing to iterate on the designs
Collaborate early with engineers to validate flows and interactions and reduce rework, without owning implementation
Clearly express design intent so product and technical trade-offs are deliberate and well understood
Communicate decisions and rationale clearly using Figma, prototypes, and concise documentation
What you need to succeed
You have a minimum of 6 years’ relevant work experience
Strong understanding of frontend constraints, including components, responsiveness, performance, data loading, and state management
Ability to design systems and interactions with technical awareness, not just visual polish
Experience working closely with engineering teams in complex product environments
Clear and precise communication skills, with the ability to explain not only what a design is, but why it works
Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving work forward independently
Nice to have
Experience using AI as part of the design and engineering workflow, including UI generation, component variant exploration, Figma ↔ code translation, logic simulation, and accelerated documentation
Understanding of modern web tech stacks such as React, Vue.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Node or Edge runtimes, and AI-assisted workflows
Background in financial products or other complex, regulated domains
