We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our BUX team in Amsterdam.

Engineering is at the heart of BUX. The BUX DevOps team is a group of cross-functional experts with a deep understanding of software development, infrastructure management, and security. We work closely with other development teams to understand their needs and build a platform that meets those needs. We go by a small set of easy design principles which include:

• Solutions that are built in code, our solutions are repeatable and built for the future

• We use industry-standard tools and technologies where we can

• We build to scale and build to fail

What you will do

• Own, maintain, and improve the critical infrastructure behind BUX, including several GKE clusters, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and MySQL clusters

• Introduce more automation, audit, and access control

• Improve infrastructure and application security

• Own and maintain our monitoring and alerting system

• Facilitate and adhere to DevOps practices, such as Infrastructure as Code, and work on improving the developers' experience

What you need to succeed

We are looking for you if:

• You are a skilled DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer with hands-on experience managing production systems

• You have hands-on, production experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Kafka

• You have a strong engineering mindset and passion for building and operating reliable infrastructure at scale

• You have production experience with a major cloud platform (GCP or AWS)

• You have experience with CI/CD tools (Like Docker, Helm, and Github Actions)

• You want to work in an environment that allows you to grow both as a person and as a professional

• You have strong communication skills and can work with various internal stakeholders

• You are a team-player

Nice-to-have but not required:

• Experience with Elasticsearch, MySQL

• Experience operating JVM-based applications
